How long has Myofunctional Therapy been around? 

The history of myofunctional therapy dates back to the 15th century in Italy.  

Edward Angle, The father of modern orthodontics wrote his book In 1907 titled The Treatment of Malocclusion of the Teeth.  One of Angle’s students was Alfred Rogers (1903), who in 1918 presented his first paper on Myofunctional Therapy of Orthodontics at the annual meeting of the American Association of OrthodontistsAs early as the 1500's 

 

How effective is Myofunctional Therapy? 

There is a substantial body of research affirming the effectiveness of Myofunctional Therapy. This therapy has successfully helped thousands of adults and children improve their airway function, reduce snoring, enhance sleep quality, correct malocclusion, and improve swallowing.

Does insurance cover therapy?

I am not affiliated with any insurance providers. However, many medical insurance plans are beginning to offer coverage for Myofunctional Therapy. It is advisable to check with your insurance company for specific details regarding your coverage. 

How many sessions are typically required? 

The number of sessions varies depending on the individual. As each person is unique, there is no predetermined number of sessions. Consequently, treatment plans are tailored to the specific needs of each client. Most clients complete therapy within approximately 12 sessions. The overall duration of therapy typically ranges from 6 to 9 months. All Sessions can be done in person in Longmont Colorado or virtually at no additional cost.

How much does therapy cost?

Initial Comprehensive Assessment: $100 (60 Minutes)

Each Myofunctional Therapy Session $125  (45-60 Minutes)

Additional family members can combine therapy sessions for only $75 each. 

All fees are collected the day of service for each session.
